Power Point Installation in Perth's Northern Suburbs
Never enough outlets where you actually need them? JEC installs power points in Joondalup homes: extra outlets, USB points, weatherproof outdoor power and replacements for old or damaged points. Fixed price from Glen before any work starts.
The problem
Power Boards Behind the TV Aren't a Plan
Most homes were wired for a different era. One double point per bedroom made sense before every bed had two phones charging next to it, and no builder in 1985 planned an outlet for the coffee machine, the air fryer and the dishwasher on the same kitchen bench. So the gap gets filled with power boards and extension leads snaking behind furniture.
Daisy-chained boards and leads aren't just untidy. They overload single outlets, they get buried under dust and curtains, and on older wiring they add strain the circuit was never designed for.
The proper fix is cheap and quick: put outlets where the appliances actually live. Glen adds points on existing circuits where capacity allows, checks the circuit can take the extra load, and gives you one fixed price for however many points you need, whether that's one outlet behind the TV or a room-by-room top-up of the whole house.
What we do
Power Point & Switch Installation in Joondalup
JEC installs, replaces and relocates power points and switches in homes across Joondalup, Currambine, Wanneroo, Clarkson and the northern Perth corridor. Small jobs are welcome: a single point gets the same tidy work and fixed price as a full-house job.
-
Extra power points: new outlets added where you need them: kitchens, home offices, garages, behind wall-mounted TVs.
-
USB power points: outlets with built-in USB-A and USB-C charging, so bedside and kitchen-bench chargers stop hogging sockets.
-
Outdoor and weatherproof power points: properly rated weatherproof outlets for patios, BBQ areas, sheds and pools, with RCD protection.
-
Replacing old, damaged or discoloured points: cracked plates, loose outlets, scorched or warm points swapped for new hardware.
-
Light switches and dimmers: replacements, extra switches, two-way switching, LED-compatible dimmers.
-
Relocating points and switches: moving outlets during renovations, new kitchen layouts or furniture changes.
-
Circuit checks with every job: confirming the circuit and your switchboard can safely carry what is being added.

Why JEC
Why Joondalup Homeowners Use JEC for Power Points
Small jobs, taken seriously
Plenty of electricians won't return calls for a two-point job. JEC does small residential work every week across the northern suburbs, and it gets the same fixed price and clean finish as a big job.
Safety checked, not just screwed on
A new outlet is only as safe as the circuit behind it. With 25+ years' experience, Glen checks load and RCD protection as part of every install, not as an optional extra.
One fixed price, no surprises
You'll know the full cost in writing before work starts. "We'll give you a fixed price before we start" isn't a slogan. It's how every JEC job runs.
How It Works
-
Tell Glen what you need
Call 0438 678 218 or send the form: how many points, which rooms, indoor or outdoor. Photos help if you have them.
-
Fixed price confirmed
Glen confirms placement and checks the circuits, then gives you one written fixed price for the lot before anything is drilled.
-
Installed and tested
Points go in cleanly, every outlet is tested, and the packaging and old hardware leave with Glen. Most power point jobs are finished in a single visit.
Power Point Questions, Answered
How much does it cost to install a power point in Joondalup?
It depends on how many points you need and how easy the wall and circuit are to access. Whatever the job looks like, JEC gives you one fixed price in writing before work starts, so the number you agree to is the number you pay.
Can a power point be added anywhere in the house?
Almost anywhere, if the nearby circuit has capacity for it. Points are usually added by extending an existing circuit inside the wall or roof cavity. Where a circuit is already near its limit, Glen will tell you and quote the right alternative, a new circuit from the switchboard, rather than overloading what is there.
Are USB power points worth installing?
If a spot in your home permanently hosts phone chargers, like bedside tables, the kitchen bench or a home office desk, a USB point frees up both sockets and gets rid of the plug adaptors. They cost more than a standard point, so they're best placed where they'll actually be used rather than fitted everywhere.
My power point is warm, discoloured or scorched. Is that dangerous?
Treat it seriously. Heat marks, discolouration or a warm faceplate usually mean a loose or deteriorating connection behind the point, and loose connections generate heat, which is a genuine fire risk. Stop using that outlet and have it inspected. Replacing a failing point is a quick, inexpensive job compared with what it can lead to.
Do outdoor power points need to be weatherproof?
Yes. Outdoor outlets must be weatherproof-rated for their location and protected by an RCD (safety switch), which is how JEC installs every external point. If your switchboard is older, Glen checks the RCD protection as part of the job; some older boards don't protect power circuits the way current WA rules require.
