Here's the catch with split-system installs: the unit needs a refrigeration installer and an electrician, because most systems need their own dedicated circuit back to the switchboard. Book them separately and you're coordinating two trades, paying two call-outs, and hoping neither blames the other if something's off.

JEC provides both electrical contracting and air conditioning services. Glen quotes the whole job as one fixed price: the unit (or install-only if you've bought your own), the mounting and commissioning, the dedicated circuit, and the switchboard connection.

How much does air conditioning installation cost in Joondalup?

It depends on the unit size, whether the indoor and outdoor units are back-to-back or need longer pipe runs, and whether your switchboard has room for the new circuit. JEC quotes the whole job (unit, install and electrical) as one fixed price in writing before any work starts.

Do you supply the air conditioner, or can I buy my own?

Both. JEC can supply and install a split system sized for your room, or install a unit you've already purchased. If you're buying your own, call Glen first. He'll confirm the size suits the space before you spend the money.

What size split system do I need?

Room size, ceiling height, insulation and how much sun the room cops all affect it. As a rough guide, a small bedroom needs a much smaller unit than an open-plan living area, and an undersized unit will run flat out on a 40-degree Perth day without keeping up. Glen sizes the unit during the home assessment and explains the recommendation before you commit.

Why does a split system need an electrician?

Most split systems draw enough power to need their own dedicated circuit back to the switchboard, with its own protection. They shouldn't just be plugged into the nearest power point. Because JEC is an electrical contractor, that circuit is part of the one quote. If your board is older and has no spare capacity, a switchboard upgrade may be needed first. Glen checks this at the assessment.

Do you service and repair existing air conditioners?
