A renovated living area may be wired recently while bedrooms, roof-space runs or the original switchboard remain from an earlier stage. Outside, salt and moisture add another maintenance factor. Testing and a clear renovation history are more useful than assuming the whole installation matches the newest room.

Our Mullaloo house was extensively renovated. Could old wiring still remain?
Yes. Renovations are often limited to the rooms changed at the time. The switchboard, roof space where accessible, circuit tracing and test results help identify whether older wiring remains elsewhere.
What are warning signs on an exterior light or outlet?
Cracked covers, corrosion, loose seals, water entry, flickering or a safety switch that trips after rain all need attention. Do not open or touch a fitting that may be energised; leave the affected circuit off where possible.
Can JEC attend a fault at night?
No. Urgent electrical work is business-hours only, Monday to Friday 7am to 5pm. For smoke, fire or immediate danger, keep clear and contact emergency services.
