Electrician in Innaloo, Built Before Aircon
Much of Innaloo was built decades before every home ran air conditioning, and plenty of its switchboards still show it. JEC assesses the board first, then quotes one fixed price for upgrades, new circuits or the aircon install itself.
Post-War Homes Carrying Modern Loads
Innaloo is one of the established suburbs on this side of the city, with a core of post-war and mid-century homes alongside newer infill. The original houses were wired when a fridge, a stove and a handful of lights were the whole electrical story.
The same houses now run reverse-cycle air conditioning, induction cooktops, home offices and outdoor entertaining. That retrofit history is why the switchboard matters here: each new appliance was bolted onto a board that was never designed for it, and the oldest boards still have no RCD safety switches at all. An assessment tells you what the board can actually carry before the next addition goes on.
Adding Aircon? Quote the Circuit With the Unit
A split system needs a dedicated circuit back to the switchboard, and on an older board that can be the bigger half of the job. JEC does both the refrigeration and the electrical side, so the unit, the circuit and any board work arrive as one fixed price instead of two trades and two invoices.

Local questions
Innaloo Electrical Questions
Can an older Innaloo switchboard take a new split-system air conditioner?
Sometimes, but many cannot without work. A split system usually needs its own dedicated circuit, and a post-war board may have no spare ways, no RCD on the new circuit, or a main switch already near its limit. Glen checks the board as part of the air-conditioning quote, so the answer comes before the install, not on the day.
Our house has been added to over the years. Is mixed-age wiring a problem?
Not automatically, but it needs to be understood. Additions, garage conversions and past aircon installs each brought their own era of cable and protection, and faults often sit at the joins between them. Circuit testing at the board maps what is actually there, which makes any quote and any repair far more accurate.
Does JEC come to Innaloo, and when?
Yes, for quoted, scheduled work such as switchboard upgrades, air conditioning and RCD compliance, with travel priced into the fixed quote. Urgent same-day callouts are focused closer to the Joondalup base. All work is during business hours, Monday to Friday 7am to 5pm.
